I’m away from the Beat Breakfast today and Monday returning on Tuesday. I have something I have to do this weekend and I figured I should get some extra rest. Let me explain.
I am a runner.
I run to escape, to think, so my pants fit (I like beer and pork) and for the feeling I get when I’m done. Running is a celebration and it brings incredible joy into my life.
After my 24 Hour Walk for Heart and Stroke in February I decided if I could do that, I could run a marathon so, I entered the Ottawa Marathon which is Sunday. After the events in Boston last month, I was resolved more than ever to run and complete that race.
Today I run because I can. I run because I choose to see the good in the world instead of the ugliness. I run to remember, reflect, and pray. I run because it’s what runners do.
I am a runner and on Sunday I will run for those who can’t. I will run and I will remember. I will run for Boston.
