WITH THE ANCIENT WORLD.
While we are living our daily routines, driving our cars, going to work and eating our lunch, somewhere far far away people are dedicating their every breath to discovering a world we haven’t seen in decades.
This (for whatever reason) continues to amaze me every day!
There’s a new documentary about a project that’s been ongoing for more than 13 years. It’s the incredible discovery of the lost city of Heracleion. An ancient city located near Alexandria, Egypt and buried under the Mediterranean Sea for more than 1,200 years!
Back in 2000, the city was rediscovered by a French underwater archaeologist Dr. Frank Goddio and his team of people. After 4 years of looking for it, they found it! Ruins of a lost city buried 30 feet under the sea in Aboukir Bay.
This new film highlights some of the more recent and MAJOR discoveries over the past 13 years. Items made of gold, giant statues, sculptures and more.
Check out this video showing some of the findings, it’s pretty incredible.
Ok, so maybe you’re not as excited as I am? I just love this stuff. I’ve always been totally enthralled with ancient discoveries and the times in which these incredibly amazing people lived.
If you’re a fan (nerd) like me, check out the documentary which aired earlier this month, I think you’ll enjoy it!
