OR AT LEAST IT COULD…
The brilliant makers of one of my favourite ice cream brands have come up with another inventive way to make new ice cream flavours!
(mind you this is only happening in the States but it’s still a really cool idea).
Each city gets a page on their website http://www.citychurned.benjerry.com/city/nyc/ filled with items that represent what they’re best known for. It’s a little hard to explain, but let me try.
Portland is evidently known for it’s facial hair ( ya I didn’t know that either). Many locals sport the beards and moustaches and so when you visit the site, you can vote for which one you’ve seen more. Each of those represents an ingredient: Beards represent graham crackers while moustaches represent marshmallows. Ultimately, the facial hair you see most, will determine the ingredient going into your city’s ice cream. Understand?
It looks like this:
Pretty neat huh?
Right now the front-running ingredients for Portland City’s ice cream flavour include; graham crackers, blueberries and fairtrade vanilla, to name a few.
Thousands of people have been voting and will continue to do so until the flavours are on shelves. Here’s the catch- Ben & Jerry’s will only be shelving the flavours for ONE DAY? Yup, one day only for locals to enjoy and celebrate the flavour they helped create.
My question to you is: if the Tri-Cities were an ice cream flavour….which ingredients would you choose to put in it? Maybe blackberries? Oktoberfest beer? Maple syrup?
Let me know!
