We finally have scientific evidence that running away from your problems is actually better for your health, than dealing with them head on!
See!? All the years of people judging and telling you; “you don’t communicate enough” or “you need to work on talking about your feelings” or “it’s not healthy to keep this inside”, have come to an end!
Turns out, those of you who like to run far far away from your problems and distract yourselves with other things have had it right all along.
A new study out of the University of Toronto has found the best way to cope with stress and your problems is to . . . RUN FROM IT ALL!
Researchers found people were happier when they found ways to distract themselves from issues, instead of confronting those issues head-on.
According to them, if you ignore your stress, it won’t affect how you enjoy the other aspects of your life. REALLLLYYY!??? (hahaha Mom…are you reading this!?)
They also found that getting a little distance from your problems eventually helps you figure out better solutions for them.
This is a true revelation! Do you know how many drama driven emotionally strained people are going to be able to breathe again!?
(there are a few ladies from high school I can think of that could really benefit from reading this!)
So here’s to all my passive aggressive sista’s who always knew running away from their ex boyfriend’s ugh, I mean, problems was the only way to go!
Have a great weekend and if there’s any drama, any at all…smile, take a sip of your drink and walk on.
Oops I forgot to mention one teenie tiny little thing…..
. . . you do have to solve them at SOME point. The researchers say AVOIDING problems for a little bit can be good for you . . . but completely escaping from your problems and never dealing with them makes things worse.
