Most people know what to do when they see someone choking on a bite of food, but would have no clue what to try if the same thing happened to their four-legged furry friend. That’s what the pet first aid course being taught at the Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society hopes to correct.
Some course topics include, prevention of illness and injury, restraint and transportation, choking skills, poisoning, injuries from heat and cold & more.
The course is a 10 hour course, which takes place from 9am until 7pm. The fee for the course is $180, which includes 10 hours of instruction time, reference manual and support materials, as well as a certification from Walks n’ Wags Pet First Aid that is valid for 3 years.
