I recently got engaged to my long time boyfriend. One day while discussing wedding details with my mom she asked who will walk me down the aisle? I told her she would with my step dad who also has raised me since I was very young. However my mom and step dad have been apart for years and are now both remarried. I also told my mom I would have a special mom and daughter dance to honour our relationship. My mom was not happy with my choice saying it should be only her walking down the aisle with me since she was with me from day one. Not only was my mom not happy but my mom’s new husband was not happy saying it’s inappropriate to have my mom and step dad walk down the aisle together and he would have a problem with it as well. I am very confused, I love my step dad very much he is my adopted father and would be crushed if I said he can’t walk with me down the aisle, however my mom is an amazing woman, I love her but don’t want to pick sides. What do I do!!!??? – Wedding March Madness.
