My husband and I have been a one car family for several years, but with two kids aged 6 and 8 and with lots on the go we need a second car. We’ve been holding off since money is tight, but my parents have been talking about going to one car for sometime and have recently offered to sell us their car, at a reduced price. It is a VERY expensive car. While it is a wonderful gesture, we don’t want to deal with the maintenance costs of the car, and while it is a reduced price, we can get something much cheaper. I thanked them for the gesture but declined.
Several times after that, my mom has called and I continued to say no. I was polite and thanked her for the offer every time. Over the weekend my mom called AGAIN, then I told her no thank you again, and she continued to push it. How do I once and for all get the message across without losing my temper?
