I went back to work after my maternity leave was done in January. My mother-in-law watches our daughter for us, an offer I reluctantly took her up on. She and I have had issues in the past – we don’t see eye to eye on many things – but my husband and I saw this as a good plan and a way to save some money.
Since she started watching our daughter, our relationship has gone from bad to worse. She has taken to second guessing and undermining the way I raise my daughter and has become even more rude to me. I have turned the other cheek. My husband has seen it and heard it, but does nothing about it and says “she’s doing us a favour”.
I want to put my daughter in a great daycare around the corner and put an end to my “mother-in-law daycare”, but my husband says no. Do I just go along with it for a few years until she goes to school since we’re saving money, or do I put my foot down?
