I love Spring for one reason above all else – the kids can finally play outside without me having to worry about them getting too cold. When the weather is nice, our routine after school is to play in the backyard for an hour or two. They love it, and I encourage them to play out there as much as possible. The trouble is, our neighbor (who moved in last December) has been a real jerk about the noise the kids make when they are playing. He’s yelled at them to be quiet from a window a couple of times already and he very rudely told me I should ‘get control of my kids’. That comment really caught me by surprise and didn’t know what to say or do. I haven’t said anything since but I really don’t want to discourage my kids from using the backyard. Do I need to address this or can I just ignore it and let the kids play? – Darla in Waterloo
