Dear Beat Breakfast Panel,
I am 12 weeks pregnant with my first child, and I announced my pregnancy this weekend. My husband and I decided that we’d like to find out if the baby is a boy or girl. Here’s the problem… I told my Mom that I would like her to find out what the gender is, and then fill up a box of balloons with that colour, either pink or blue, for us to open at our gender reveal party in July. Now I’m having second thoughts about letting her be the one to find out, because my husband said it would be nice for he and I to have that moment just the two of us, and we can still host a gender reveal party to reveal the gender to everyone else.
What do you think? If we decide to be the ones to find out, how can I let my mom know without hurting her feelings? This will be her third grandchild, and my brother and his wife found out but didn’t tell anyone else for the duration of those two pregnancies.
Thanks for your help!
