My friend is getting married in the fall, I’m her bridesmaid (She was in my wedding 6 years ago), and her bachelorette is at the end of June. When I say party, I don’t mean a night on the town, I mean a week at an all-inclusive resort in Dominican.
I love my friend, but since when did a bachelorette party become a week of holidays and a price tag of $1,500? I loved my bachelorette, but it was one night out with all my fav ladies. Now I’m expected to use one of my 3-weeks vacation time from work, to go to a beach resort IN THE SUMMER. There are four bridesmaids and the maid of honour – her sister, planned the trip and I’m the only one who thinks it’s over the top.
I want to be a good friend, but I don’t want to use my holidays and spend so much for a bachelorette party. How can I decline without sounding like a horrible friend? Over The Top in Waterloo
