I lent my cousin money a couple years ago. It was a couple thousand dollars and I never expected to get it back. He was in a tough spot financially and I could afford to help him, so I did. At the time, he told me he’d pay me back and I told him not to worry about it. He hadn’t asked for anything before and hasn’t asked for anything since. About six months ago, I found out he’d somehow scored a high-paying job. I haven’t heard anything from him at all since he got the job. I feel like he should pay me back my money now that he’s can afford to. But, since I told him not too worry about it, do I have the right to demand that money back? – Steve in Waterloo
