Attrell Cordes, a.k.a. rapper/singer Prince Be of P.M. Dawn, died Friday at age 46.
The cause of death was kidney disease resulting from diabetes.

With profound sadness The driving force of P.M. Dawn, Attrell Cordes “Prince Be” has passed this day 06/16/16. Cordes passed Friday of renal kidney disease from diabetes at a hospital in his home state of New Jersey. He is survived by his wife Mary and three children: Christian, Mia and Brandon.
P.M. Dawn made its debut nearly 25 years ago, when “Set Adrift on Memory Bliss” — which famously samples Spandau Ballet’s “True” hit the airwaves in October of 1991. The song reached the Billboard Hot 100 in two weeks after it’s debut and sailed to No. 1 on Nov. 30 of that year. The act would go on to earn seven further Hot 100 hits, including the top 40 singles “Paper Doll”, “I’d Die Without You” and “Looking Through Patient Eyes”.
The group released 5 studio albums the most acclaimed– 1993’s The Bliss Album…? (Vibrations of Love and Anger and the Ponderance of Life and Existence)
