SCARLETT JOHANSSON is now the highest-grossing actress of all-time . . . and she’s only 31 years old. In all, her movies have made $3.3 billion at the domestic box office.
According to BoxOfficeMojo.com, she ranks 10th overall. Harrison Ford is #1, followed by Samuel L. Jackson, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hanks, Robert Downey Jr., Eddie Murphy, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, and Michael Caine, who’s #9.
Even though Scarlett is the only woman in the Top 10, she’s by far the youngest person. Robert Downey Jr. is next, and he’s 51.
The next woman on the list is Cameron Diaz. She’s at #19 . . . and her movies have made just over $3 billion. Then there’s Helena Bonham Carter at #26, and Cate Blanchett at #29.
Of course, Scarlett didn’t shoot up this list for doing “Ghost World”, “Lost in Translation”, and “The Black Dahlia”. It’s mostly because she’s played Black Widow in five Marvel movies.
Those five have made $2.1 billion, which accounts for 63% of her overall total. That’s not to take anything away from her, it’s just to put things in perspective, and explain how she’s made this much so soon in her career. Obviously, Robert Downey Jr. also has Marvel to thank.
