Today we remember those who have fought for Canada’s freedom and peace.
Remembrance Day ceremonies in Kitchener have been moved to Carl Zehr square at Kitchener City Hall from the Cenotapah at Duke and Frederick and will begin at 10:45.
The reason? To “ensure that there is enough room to accommodate everyone, while construction continues on the streets surrounding the cenotaph.” The ceremony will start at the Victoria Park clock tower, the parade will march to Carl Zehr Square at 10:30 and the service will start at 10:45.
In Waterloo, a parade will march from the Royal Canadian Legion to the cenotaph on Regina Street between with the ceremony starting at 10:15.
Cambridge has three separate ceremonies, one at Queen and Tannery at 10:30 at the Hespeler cenotaph, one at Ainslie and Walnut at the Galt cenotaph at 11, and one at 334 Westminster Drive North at 11 on Preston …
And remember to take a social media silence at 11am too. The Beat’s social media channels will go silent for 2 minutes to coincide with ceremonies in Kitchener, Waterloo Cambridge and Ottawa.
