So- I don’t follow baseball.. I don’t overly know HOW votes for the Cy Young award works, but Kate Upton’s husband Justin Verlander got 14 1st place votes for the award, the guy who ended up winning it, Rick Porcello, only had 8.
The way the voting works for this is that every 1st place vote- you get 7 points, 2nd place vote- you get 4, 3rd- you get 3, 4th is worth 2 points, and 5th you get one. Rick had a better overall scoring than Kate’s Husband.
Kate was NOT happy about the outcome of this. I think it’s pretty refreshing to see someone stand up for their significant other. I don’t know if she’s right about this or not- but I think this is pretty hilarious.
He had the majority of 1st place votes and 2 writers didn't have him on their ballots?!! can you pick more out of touch people to vote?@MLB— Kate Upton (@KateUpton) November 16, 2016
