I’m in my mid-thirties and have been casually dating for most of my adult life with a few semi-serious relationships over the years. Throughout this period of time I’ve had a guy I’ve remained in touch with and when we’re both not in relationships we’ve carried on like we’re in a long-distance relationship. I kinda always thought I’d end up with this guy but as more time passes it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen and I’m wondering if always having this ‘back-up plan’ guy has kept me from fully investing emotionally in some of my past relationshps. I’m ready to get serious with someone and I’m wondering if it’s time to finally end my ‘back-up’ relationship for good. – Kendra
