Every year for the last 5 years all my closest friends get together for an all girls New Year’s Eve party at our friend “Anne’s” house in Toronto. It’s become tradition, but this year we suggested moving the party to Montreal to visit our friend “Leslie” who has just been dumped by her fiance. She always comes to the party but just doesn’t feel up to it this year. We don’t want her to be alone and think she should be with friends.
We tried to convince Anne to move the party to Montreal for Leslie, but she said no. We all decided to go to Montreal, and Anne now wants to join us but wants to bring her jerk boyfriend who we’re not the biggest fan of, and who isn’t friends with us. She brings him everywhere all the time and frankly we don’t like how he treats her and in light of Leslie being dumped we think just the girls should be there. Should we tell her that we’d prefer this to stick to being a girl’s night, or suck it up and let it slide or tell her not to come at all? NYE party problems in Waterloo
