Just a year after her powerful performance of “Til It Happens To You” at the 88th annual Academy Awards, Lady Gaga made an appearance throughout the 2017 ceremony, courtesy of her Revlon-backed “The Love Project” TV spot, which aired throughout the commercial break.
Previously teased via social media, Gaga’s newest project has a simple but powerful mission statement: share love with the world. Throughout the 30-second advertisement, which was directed by Brett Ratner and features additional star power from Pharrell Williams and Ellen DeGeneres, the trio share all their different definitions for love.
In a statement for the venture, the Gaga explained the importance of the campaign. “The Love Project is the beginning of a social movement which aims to inspire more love, acceptance and caring in the world,” she said. “At the heart of this campaign is the belief that all people are beautiful and that love can create a better world.”
