My brother-in-law’s girlfriend had been ignoring my fb msgs. I could tell because facebook had marked them as read. So when my sons 7th Birthday came around I didn’t bother to invite them. They normally make an excuse not to come anyway.
On my sons birthday- they never said happy birthday on any of the facebook or instagram posts- but they’ll always say happy birthday to their other nephew. A few weeks later, they told us they were pregnant and when my husband said congrats to my brother in law- he also mentioned we were hurt they ignored our son’s birthday.
After that- sh*t hit the fan. She deleted me off Facebook and when I asked her why she said we were selfish, pathetic, and that we never take responsibility for our actions. She said we need to rethink how we are with family and that we’re hypocrites- and then she said she didn’t know why I never put her in my wedding!
Were we wrong to say our feelings were hurt? Are we not supposed to be able to have real conversations between family members?
