My family has a special “secret butter tart recipe”, that I have never shared with anyone. Everyone loves it. It’s been passed down from generation to generation and I hold it quite dear to me since it’s my great great grandmother’s. I plan on passing it down to my kids. My mother-in-law has asked me for the recipe many times and I politely say no each time and explain why. I have shared many other recipes with her, but not this one.
She snooped in my house, found it and shared it with a few friends. My sister-in-law found out and let my husband and I know. When my husband confronted her, my mother-in-law she’s says it’s not a big deal since recipes should be shared.
I can’t believe she would snoop through my home after I told her no. That should have been enough. How can I ever trust her and how can I make her understand that this is a big deal? S in Waterloo
