When do most parents get, or allow their kids to get, cellphones? I’ve got a 12 and 14 year old who are both asking me for one. They say they want to be able to chat and text with their friends and can’t do that because we don’t have a landline. I remember when I was a kid, we only had a landline. Talking to friends was much simpler and so was keeping keeping track of your kids’ calls. I see the benefit of everyone having a cellphone but as a single mom I really don’t want to pay for two more cell plans or a landline. I need advice from parents who have been through this. – Missing the ‘landline’ years.
