I made plans with a friend for lunch last week and had to cancel them an hour before we were supposed to meet. To be honest, I forgot. I didn’t put it in my calendar. I’ve been swamped at work, had a last minute meeting my boss asked me to take for him and couldn’t get away. I messaged her, apologized, asked to reschedule and even offered to pay.
That’s when I got a text from her that wasn’t meant for me, ABOUT ME to another one of our friends saying I was rude for forgetting and cancelling at the last minute! I didn’t respond. A few days later after realizing her mistake she messaged back saying there was an issue with her phone for a few days and she didn’t know what happened. So now, on top of accusing me of being rude, she’s lying to me and didn’t apologize. I apologized!!! I felt bad at first, but now I’m just angry. What’s the protocol for cancelling a lunch date? And was I rude? -Lunch drama in Kitchener
