I work in an office. My team leader, and up until recently the rest of my team is located in another city, an hour +away) from where I am stationed. About a year ago, another person, we will call her “BUBBLES” who I have had to work with previously was re-assigned and placed on our team. Bubbles is extremely incompetent with her job skills, has a known history of taking credit, awards, and financial pay increases for work that she did not do. Last year, during an event she approached, IN FRONT OF OTHERS, at the last minute and asked for a ride. Trying to be nice, and not cause a scene, I agreed. When she got into my car she had some food with her. This is a brand new car, I asked her NOT to eat in my car. On the way back from the event, she and her son (bring your kid to work day) both consumed an entire plate of food each. She has no respect for others, and thinks people should owe it to do things for her. Now my Team Leader is expecting me to drive her to another city for a team event. I have tried to say no, and explained to my Team Leader in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS WHY I do NOT want her in my car, (BUBBLES is a dishonest, ungrateful, disrespectful person). During teleconference meetings my Team Leader is trying to bully me into driving her there for the upcoming event by saying things like, (hope you ALL can drive down and get TOGETHER with us). Bubbles, is clueless and I want to tell her why she will never be allowed in my car so she stops asking or thinking that I will, but my Team Leader has basically threatened me with harsh consequences if I am “that rude” to her. No where in my job description does it say I have to be a chauffeur to anyone in my own personal vehicle. My Team Leader keeps telling me I am not a “Team Player”, and I am afraid this is going to be effected on my Performance Appraisal. Do I suck it up and drive with this person for over an hour, and hope that I can control myself not to kick her out on the side of the 401, or stick to my guns and get a poor work review and a poor financial increase because of this.
