We’re following up with Beat listeners to see how they made out after they sent in their questions to us – and you – for help. Every Friday, it’s a Follow-Up Friday on the Beat Breakfast Panel.
I work in an office that has just recently converted all bathrooms to ‘gender neutral’ meaning there are any number of men and/or women in any bathroom in the building at any given time. For the most part it’s been alright. Everyone is respectful of others’ privacy while using the bathroom, but a couple of guys are so disgusting in there that I don’t know what to do. Every time I’m in there with either of them they pass gas very loudly and if they’re both in there, they do it and then laugh like a couple of little boys. I think it’s rude that they seem to be doing it intentionally in front of me and other women in the bathroom. I have asked management about a no gas rule in the office including the bathroom, but they seem to just laugh it off. What do I do? – Problems with the ‘wind-breakers’
Hi Carlos, Dave & Laura,
I want to thank you and your listeners for the advice they had about my ‘wind-breaker’ problem. I also am happy to say the problem has been finally dealt with – in a roundabout way. A friend and co-worker of mine heard you talking about the problem and correctly guessed that it was me who messaged you. The next day she dragged me into the bathroom with her and let out the loudest and smelliest gas I’ve ever experienced right in front of one of these guys I had mentioned in my email. He was grossed out (what a double-standard) and after some discussion promised he’d stop it if she promised never to do what she did again. Thanks Beat Breakfast!
I’ve always wanted a pick-up truck and I finally got one a couple months ago. It’s a beauty and I love it but I might have to get rid of it just to get the people I know to leave me alone. Since I got the truck in May, I’ve had at least 6 friends and family ask me to help them either move, move something heavy, take a load of trash to the dump or ‘borrow it for their weekend away’. I didn’t realize buying a pick-up was going to turn me in to a jack of all trades. How do people who own pickup trucks kindly avoid having to help out every person in their life with it? – Dan in Elmira
I had a feeling I wasn’t the only one with a pickup truck that had this problem. Beat listeners are the best and they I feel a lot better after hearing their responses and reading the comments on Facebook. I love pizza and beer and from now on I will be demanding both for any truck related favours! Thanks again. Dan
