When asked if I would like to get dressed-up and watch a fashion show, all while celebrating Oktoberfest and supporting a local charity . . . I definitely did not need to be asked twice!
For over 41 years, A Blooming Affair Fashion Show has been a part of the Oktoberfest traditions in the Waterloo region, showcasing amazing styles from our communities leading independent retailers.
This years fashion show took place at Lot 42, a gorgeous new performance and event venue located on Ardelt Place in Kitchener. With the event attracting over 900 attendees a year, this new 17-acre venue was absolutely perfect for the annual festivities!
Through a highly-anticipated raffle draw, all proceed’s collected directly benefit a deserving, local charity in our community every year. The 2017 charit partner for Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest’s A Blooming Affair Fashion Show was the Child Witness Centre.
For over 25 years, the Child Witness Centre has been providing various services to help provide a safe place for youth who have sadly witnessed or experienced abuse in their lifetime. Raffle proceeds are going towards providing support information and advocacy for children and youth affected by crime.
Our very own Carlos and Laura from The Beat Breakfast took part in the Oktoberfest celebrations and were the hosts of this beautiful event, doing a fantastic job as always! Our community is filled with a great number of local shops carrying amazing styles you simply cannot find in your regular shopping mall.
Needless to say, this is one Oktoberfest event I highly recommend for next year and many years to come!
