The college strike is well into it’s 4th week, and students are getting fed up.
Some colleges, like Conestoga, have announced the time missed due to the strike will have to be made up during Christmas Break.
Students Jessica Towriss and Kaitlyn Mullin have written a letter in regards to the strike, and it echoes a lot of students concerns,
They spoke to international student Prahlad Gh, who’s concerned about the school time during Christmas break.
“I already paid $8,126 for my fall semester and am due to pay $7,447 for the winter semester. I booked my tickets to India for Dec. 16 with a return flight on Jan. 16, as my sister’s getting married on the 11th of January. Now with this strike going nowhere and with the news that the Christmas break might be trimmed to a week to 10 days, I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to attend the wedding,”
They spoke to students who will now have delayed graduations and co-op placements. And they shared a lot of the anger which I can totally understand.
There was a very brief strike when I went to school and I remember being very thankful because it was quite short.
