My co-worker and I were planning a secret Santa for those at work who wanted to be involved. Unfortunately, not many were interested so we cancelled it. So instead we planned a gift exchange between a few of us girl (3 of us to be exact), I suggested we keep it on the down-low so that others didn’t feel excluded. I strongly believe in Karma, and immediately after we planned just a small gift exchange between a few of us girls, a 20-something year old male co-worker of ours found out and was very upset that we didn’t include him in a gift exchange. We felt bad, but didn’t purposely exclude him, tbh we just never thought he would want to buy 3 female co-workers presents.
That being said, we all pitched in and bought him a gift card (worth a fairly large amount) and gave it to him hoping to make his day! Instead of getting a “thank you” this male co-worker threw a tantrum and stormed out to his car. He hasn’t spoken a word to any of us for the past week. We’re a ll a little hurt because 1, we NEVER meant to “exclude” him and 2, we apologized and wanted to make things right by surprising him with a gift. Is it wrong of me to think if he’s going to act this childish, maybe he didn’t deserve our gift? – Secret Santa Mishap in Guelph
