TODAY IS CORUS FEEDS KIDS DAY

Today is a very special day here on the Beat and across all brands owned by Coru Entertainment. It's Corus Feeds Kids Day.
According to Food Banks Canada’s 2011 HungerCount, each month approximately 93,000 Canadians visit a food bank for the first time, with more than a third (38%) being children and youth under age 18. Not only that, 31% of elementary school students start their day without a nutritious breakfast.
That's staggering.
Have you ever started the day hungry? Remember how you felt? Tired, lethargic and unable to concentrate? Now imagine a child having to deal with that each day as they head off to school with no breakfast. Children who miss breakfast are compromised with mathematics and reading ability and young children need small nutritious meals and snacks each day for healthy growth and development to reach their full potential.

Have you ever started the day hungry? Remember how you felt? Tired, lethargic and unable to concentrate? Now imagine a child having to deal with that each day as they head off to school with no breakfast.
Tomorrow is Corus Feeds Kids Day and we want to make childhood hunger a memory. We're raising money for kids and families that will go directly to the Food Bank of Waterloo Region. All the money raised here stays here in Waterloo Region.
It takes both food and funds to help the 26,500 people needing food assistance in the Region. There are lots of opportunities to support The Food Bank of Waterloo Region in its role of serving 73 food programs in Waterloo Region, so no one goes hungry. one way is a cash donation.
