A sign that Spring is around the corner... I'M TALKING ABOUT BASEBALL!!!
Congratulations goes out to Toronto Blue Jays outfielder JOSE BAUTISTA. Sony Canada announced today that the all-star outfielder will grace the cover of MLB 12: THE SHOW for its Playstation 3 and PS Vita products. The video game with the Bautista cover will only be available in Canada. The U.S. edition of MLB 12: THE SHOW will feature Boston Red Sox first baseban Adrian Gonzalez on the cover.
The game will be available on March 6th at retailers everywhere. (For the record, I'll likely be the first in line when EB Games at Sportsworld opens. Just sayin'.) In case you missed it earlier this week, a couple of Toronto high school students launched a Lego man more than two dozen kilometres above earth — and they have the pictures to prove it.
Mathew Ho and Asad Muhammad used a weather balloon to carry a camera high above the clouds. The 17-year-old Grade 12 students also mounted a small video camera in a styrofoam capsule attached to Lego piece, which included a Lego man holding a Canadian flag.
The images captured from the flight are absolutely awesome!
The balloon popped and tumbled back to Earth more than 120 kilometres from the field where it was launched. Ho and Muhammad were able to recover the balloon — with their Lego astronaut intact. Muhammad said he was confident the Lego man would make it above the clouds, but he was not so sure it would survive its landing.

Question for you: Would you turn down an invite to the White House? Well, Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas sure did.
On Monday, the Stanley Cup Champions paid a visit to the White House to meet with U.S. president Barack Obama, except for Tim Thomas. The Boston goaltender has been taking some serious criticism about the White House snub and deciding not to join his teamates for the occasion, despite being encouraged by Bruins management to change his mind.
Thomas explained his choice of missing the event on his Facebook page, saying: “I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People.”
Thomas is not the only professional athlete to use the sports platform for a political statement. Click the video for more, courtesy of Trending News Channel...
