Here is what is required for submitting music to 91.5 THE BEAT:

1) All submissions must include the following:
• a radio edited, digitally mastered CD/Mp3 (320 kbps)/.wav (download link preferred)
• a bio/press kit
• composer, authorship and producer info
• complete information on featured artists
• label and management information (if applicable)
• accurate contact information

2) Material is assessed based on the following criteria:
• production quality as it applies to commercial radio airwaves
• compatibility with 91.5 THE BEAT sound (as defined by 91.5 THE BEAT/Corus Radio Kitchener).

3) Make sure artist/artist representative's contact info is clearly visible on each and every piece submitted (i.e. on the CD, the jewel case, the bio, etc.).

4) Once a CD has been submitted it becomes the property of 91.5 THE BEAT/Corus Radio Kitchener.

5) If the CD includes more than one track, please clearly indicate which song or songs (maximum of TWO) are to be assessed.

6) Due to the large number of submissions we receive, we ask that you do not contact the music department for a progress report regarding your material. If we wish to take your material we will contact you or your representation.

7) If mailing in your CD, a New Music Submission Form must be included with submission of material. A New Music Submission Form must be completed for each single that is being submitted.

8) If submitting digitally, please send all current and future submissions for consideration to (mrd@915thebeat.com). Please make sure that all music files are at least a 320 kbps bit rate, or include a link to download the .wav file. All submissions must be professionally mixed and mastered, and edited for radio purposes. Only tracks that fulfill these criteria will be taken in and reviewed with the music and programming departments of 91.5 THE BEAT/Corus Radio Kitchener. If we wish to take your material further will with contact you or your representation. Please include all bio information if available, and complete the New Music Submission form for each track submitted.

9) If, after assessment, the material is approved for airplay, it is the responsibility of the artist or artist representative to register the song with the following tracking services: Broadcast Data Systems info@bdsradio.ca and Mediabase at bgelfant@mediabase.com. These services monitor the frequency with which a song is played on all stations that report to the service. 91.5 THE BEAT is a BDS Canada reporting station. Radio programmers and industry personnel around the world subscribe to these services and make critical decisions based on the information it offers.

10) Submissions are reviewed on a first-come first-serve basis only. Members of the music and programming departments, which include the Music Director and the Program Director, review the submissions.

Note: 91.5 THE BEAT/Corus Radio Kitchener conducts ongoing research exercises to determine the appeal and fatigue of each song on its play list. This information is also used in the programming strategy to determine rotation of individual songs.

What is the assessment process?

Upon submission to the music department, the timeline for review of the product is at least three weeks. Please do not contact the Music Director for status of individual submissions. If we wish to move further with your material we will contact you, or your representation.

Submissions are reviewed on a first come first serve basis only. Members of the music department, which includes the Music Director and the Program Director, review the submissions.
