IS AVOIDING CONFLICT ACTUALLY GOOD FOR YOUR MARRIAGE???
Guys . . . how many times has this happened?
There's a problem in your relationship that has to do with sex, or money or whatever, and your lady decides the ONLY way to make things better . . . is to talk it out. (--Sound familiar?)
Well, according to new research, talking about relationship problems might actually make things . . . WORSE. Here's the logic . . .
Men and woman have different ways of responding to stressful situations. Women want to talk things out . . . because that makes them feel MORE comfortable.
But talking about uncomfortable things actually does the exact opposite for men . . . and makes them LESS comfortable.
When men get uncomfortable, more blood flows to their muscles . . . and they get fidgety. A woman interprets that fidgeting to mean her guy isn't listening to her . . . and that makes her mad.
Then he gets mad because she's mad . . . and the conversation turns into an argument.
In other words, forcing a guy to talk when his natural INSTINCT is to mentally check out . . . can actually make a bad situation much, much worse.
