WE'VE GOT VISITORS TODAY...

You may spot some top politicians in the tri-cities today.

Steven Harper will speak to party members at a barbecue at the Romanian Cultural Centre on Bleams Road in Kitchener at 6 this evening.  Daulton McGuinty meanwhile, will tour the Toyota facility on Fountain Street in Cambridge late this morning and then will be at Conestoga College to hand out money for skills training this afternoon.

The two men will steer clear of each other of course.   But don't you think it'd be great to see them meet up - not for a debate - but for something else.  Something more fun and interesting, like an arm wrestling match or hot dog eating competition.  I've got my money on our PM in that one!

THE MEDAL COUNT CONTINUES TO RISE!

Canada has won three more silver medals in Bejing!

First, Kingston's Simon Whitfield took silver in the men's triathalon.  Whitfield won the gold medal at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. 

Then, Toronto's Jason Burnett won silver in men's trampoline.

And then, Alexandre Despatie secured the silver in the men's three-metre springboard diving competition. 

Canada now has 12 medals. 

Way to go boys!
