RAPS, SUPER BABY!

Friday, February 29, 2008

TGIF again!

So far so good today.  My Tim's order was done to perfection - but I didn't win at Roll up the Rim today.  :(

RAPS GAME!

I'm going to the Raptors game at the ACC tonight.  They are playing Indiana and should win easily.  They beat Indy on Monday - and it was close.  But I expect absolute domination tonight.

SUPER BABY

Can you believe this?...

A newborn in India is reported to have fallen through the toilet of a moving train and onto the tracks moments after being born - and survived.

The baby girl was found alive nearly two hours later.

The child's mother, who uses the single name Bhuri, was travelling with relatives on an overnight train when she went to the bathroom shortly before midnight Tuesday.

Her brother-in-law, Arjun Kumar, says that after the train had travelled past two stations, `we knocked on the door' and Bhuri opened it, covered in blood.

He says she told them she had given birth and that the baby had fallen through the toilet, at which time she lost consciousness. Toilets on Indian trains have holes that open directly onto the tracks, and there is no indication authorities doubt Bhuri's story or plan to investigate.

The child, who has not yet been named, was eight to 10 weeks premature and weighed only three pounds, three ounces. However, despite the fact she had a low heart rate and body temperature, doctors expect her to survive.

Crazy!  I think they need to do something about those train toilets in India.

IN THE NEWS...

A 48-year old Brantford man is dead in the city's first murder of the year.  Police were called to a home early yesterday morning to find Terry Feeney without vital signs.  An autopsy revealed Feeney had been stabbed to death.  Police now have a 20-year old man in custody.  Andrew Brazier was arrested at the home and charged with second degree murder.

A Kitchener plumbing contractor has been sentenced to seven days in jail and fined $3,000 for pushing a Ministry of Labour health and safety inspector.  On January 24, 2006 an inspector visiting a construction site in east-end Toronto asked why workers were not wearing head protection.  Ion Cenuser, approached the inspector and began swearing at him and then pushed him.  Cenuser was convicted of hindering, obstructing, molesting or interfering with an inspector in the exercise of a power or the performance of duty under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

A 51-year old woman was found dead at her Toronto flower shop last night.

Five young women are in hospital after a serious crash on the 401 this morning.

Prime Minister Harper could be in hot water after a tape allegedly proves he was invovled in the attempt to buy a independant MP's vote in 2005.

Prince Harry is leaving Afghanistan after his location was leaked.
