WELL, THERE GOES MY WORLD SERIES PREDICTION...

Well, last week I predicted the Los Angeles Angels would play the Chicago Cubs in the 2008 World Series.  Yeah, not so much!!  Both teams got knocked out in the first round of the MLB playoffs, joining the Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicgo White Sox on the golf course.

Four teams remain.  The defending World Champion Boston Red Sox (top right) will take on the "still surprising" Tampa Bay Rays (top left) in the American League, while the Philadelphia Phillies (bottom left) will battle the Los Angeles Dodgers (bottom right) in the National League.  The winner of these showdowns will battle in the 2008 World Series.  Round 2 of the playoffs begins Thursday. 

I'm sure glad I didn't put money in a playoff pool this year.

OKTOBERFEST 2008 BEGINS

The tapping of the keg began on Tuesday with media night at Concordia for the kickoff of Oktoberfest 2008.  (Pictures will follow.  Hahahaha!!)

This is the 40 year of North America's biggest beverian festival.  So many great events are taking place including BEAT-toberfest on Wednesday October 15th at the Kitchener Aud.  For a list of events and details, check out www.oktoberfest.ca

A MINI HIGH SCHOOL REUNION

To wrap it up, I just want to send a shout out to Megan and Andrew.  These two are a couple of friends from high school who I haven seen in... well, since high school graduation.  (I'm not telling you what year.... so there!!)  We have conversed on Facebook a few times, but they dropped by the studio last night (with Tim Horton's in hand) by surprise.  Great to see you guys again.  Talk soon!!
